A Biography of Emily Dickinson

A Biography of Emily Dickinson Born in the 1800s, Emily Dickinson grew up in an atmosphere of very traditional slipway. In many ways her poetry reflects that fact by her use of four-line stanzas and a normal ABCB poesy organization. However, she is also modern in her use of whimsical rhyming. I will go further into the rhyme scheme later on in my presentation. Emily Dickinson has written several poems and has cardinal main topics: Life, Love, and Nature. Today, Ill be reciting one of her famous character poems called, The Grass . (Recite The Grass) Now that youve heard one of her pieces, Id like to discuss her literary devices. Emily Dickinson is noted for hit-or-miss capitalization, and her creative use of metaphor and overall modern style. As I said before Ms. Dickinson has a unique rhyme scheme.
