Opening Chapters Huck Finn

In the opening seven chapters, Twain introduces the protagonist huckaback caught between the parenting approaches of the Widow Douglas who represents quality and breast who represents a grim down life style. Widow Douglas cares for huckaback and takes care of him. When huckaback came back in the morning after he had snuck extinct and all his clothes were filthy, Widow Douglas didnt scold him, she only cleaned him impinge on and looked sorry. She is also slightly hypocritical in that she tells huckaback non to smoke but does snuff. Widow Douglas took Huck in when he had nobody else and she is a good parent to him. She is religious, but non nearly as strict about it as dominate Watson. Widow Douglas represents quality in that she makes Huck go to enlighten like any good parent would and she dresses him nicely and gives him a place to live. Pap left Huck without telling him where he went, and Huck didnt see him for over a year. Pap apply to beat Huck a lot and because of that Huck was stir of him. He is rude to Huck in the instruction he talks to him and doesnt hide him like his son.

Pap is not a good parent because he doesnt want Huck to go to school and subscribe an education because he doesnt want Huck to think that he is better than Pap. The only reason Pap comes back is to try to wash up Hucks money from him and he threatens to beat him when Huck says he has no money. When Pap does get money from Huck, he uses it irresponsibly to buy alcohol and get drunk. Pap represents a low down lifestyle because the way that he parents is not the kind of family that any child should take away to endure. Pap is a bad parent to Huck in that he takes off without telling Huck and he doesnt treat Huck in a way that would show that he cares for him.
